What can I expect at the retreat?

  • The retreats begin on Friday morning and end on Sunday afternoon. This allows you to step away from your everyday responsibilities for a few days to focus in on your emotional and spiritual health. The size of the retreat varies between 5-8 participants plus a trained team that includes a pastor or lay minister and a counselor.

Do I have to be a Christian to attend?

  • No, definitely not. Rachel’s Vineyard retreat is designed to bring healing to all wounds of trauma, including spiritual wounds. Although it was written from a Christian point of view, we welcome all people, regardless of their religious beliefs.

Why do you include both men and women on retreats? Don’t they need their own retreat?

  • We take great care to provide an environment that is safe and supportive for everyone who attends the retreat seeking the same thing - healing from the trauma of abortion and loss.

  • By going through the retreat process together, women and men recognize that they share many of the same feelings of guilt and grief and the desire for healing. Along the way, a great deal of fear, grief, shame and blame falls aways, replaced by greater appreciation and respect for one another.

Can I attend the retreat if I have not had an abortion?

  • Yes. Rachel’s Vineyard can help you process unresolved hurt and grief from other types of losses or traumatic experiences.

  • Married couples, grandparents and siblings of aborted children, as well as people who have been involved in the abortion industry have participated in Rachel’s Vineyard in search of peace and inner healing.

How much does it cost? What does it include?

  • The weekend retreat costs $150, which includes all retreat materials, lodging and food.
